Sultan Brunei Visits Korea Aerospace Industries

GIMHAE, BUSAN, KOREA, Saturday 13 December 2014 - His Majesty the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and the Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam left Busan, Republic of Korea after attending the two-day ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit which began yesterday.

Prior to leaving the Park Hyatt Busan Hotel, a Doa Selamat was read by the State Mufti, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr. Ustaz Hj Awg Abd Aziz Juned.

Upon arrival at the Gimhae Air Base, Busan, His Majesty consented to view an exhibition of an FA-50 Fighter Light Combat Aircraft manufactured by Korea Aerospace Industries before boarding the Royal Aircraft.

His Majesty was welcomed by the Korea Aerospace Industries Chief Executives Officer, Ha Sung Yong and official from Korean Airforce.Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is the only domestic aircraft manufacturer that designs and assembles world-class aircraft and satellite systems. His Majesty then consented to inspect and take a closer look at the fighter jet. His Majesty consented to have a photo session and receive pesambah.

ASEAN is not only the second largest trading partner and investment destination for Korea, but the region has also emerged as a significant partner on the socio-cultural level with over four million Koreans visiting ASEAN each year.

Present at the Gimhae Air Base, Busan to bid farewell to His Majesty were the Vice Mayor of Busan, His Excellency Jun Gyung-jin; the Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Lee Kyung-soo; the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Cho Won-myung; as well as senior officers of the Government of the Republic of Korea.

Also present were Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Dato Paduka Awg Hj Harun Hj Ismail as well as officers of the Brunei Darussalam embassy at the Republic of Korea. ©BRUDIRECT.COM
