HRH Princess Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah of Brunei Gave Birth

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah, wife of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Haji Muhammad Ruzaini bin Pengiran Dr. Haji Mohd. Yakub, by the grace of Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala, has safely given birth to a prince on Friday, 24th Rabiulakhir 1436H corresponding to February 13, 2015 at 6.55pm. | FILE PHOTO

HER Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah safely gave birth to a boy at 6.55pm on Friday, 13 February 2015.

The Grand Chamberlain, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, made the royal birth announcement last night by command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

Her Royal Highness is the wife of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Haji Muhammad Ruzaini bin Pengiran Dr. Haji Mohd Yakub.

Her Royal Highness also gave birth to a boy in August 2013.

A 17-gun salute was fired from the compound of Istana Nurul Iman to mark the birth.

On my recent blog on Brunei's Time Line , one commentator got carried away and she started to talk about events in the past before moving on to nicknames. I enjoyed what she wrote and I offered for her to write a whole blog about it and I will put it up. But up to now, I have not received anything from her. Pulau Cermin - Brunei's Historic Island

Since I was already on the water visiting the Jong Batu at one end of the Brunei River, I thought I might as well go to the other end and visit the other historical site of Brunei, Pulau Cermin. Pulau Cermin as many Brunei historians know it is the site of the temporary palace of Sultan Abdul Hakkul Mubin, the 13th Sultan of Brunei and is the site of the only civil war in Brunei History. Sultan Abdul Hakkul Mubin took the throne after assasinating Sultan Muhammad Ali. It was quite a bloody time in Brunei history and I remembered one classic book written by Yura Halim entitled "Mahkota Berdarah" regarding the episode.
